I have been using UnitTCMS for the pass 7 days started from 27-Sep-2025, and here are my observations.

Features I found missing in UnitTCMS

  • You can not duplicate a test case – I was writing my test cases for 1 API and I found like the test case will be similar so I need some of the information in another test case as well, and I wanted to start with the test case 1 content and edit it as per the test case 2 but this feature was not there so I had to navigate between 2 test cases to copy some of the content.
  • Test cases order can’t be changed – When I wrote around 15 test cases, I wanted to change the order of the test cases so that similar test cases are together 1 after another for easy tracking, but this feature was also not there.
  • You can not move the test case to other folder – When I couldn’t changed the order then I thought of moving them in different folder to group them together, but there was no feature to group them as well.
  • Priority can’t be changed from the grid directly – After writing multiple cases I couldn’t found a feature to change the priority of the test cases directly from the grid, so I had to open each test case and change the priority, this is not user friendly as I couldn’t see the priority of other test cases for the context.
  • Update a test case and close – In one use case, I realized one information I missed in all test cases so I had to update all the test cases one by one, so after updating I had to navigate to the other case but there was no feature to update the test case and close it right after so that I can quickly see the list and open the next case, this saves my 1 click, but this feature is also not there.
  • No rich text editor – I wanted to make a bulleted list but the editor doesn’t support the rich formatting like other editors so I had to use hyphen to represent a list. Similarly, editor was not there in text, and step templates, so same problem I faced there as well.
  • Parent folder can’t be changed – Once a test case is created, then parent folder can’t be changed.
  • No import of exported data – There is no option to import test cases that were exported from UnitTCMS.

Features that are really useful and available in UnitTCMS

  • Bulk delete – I can delete multiple test cases within a folder at a time.
  • Test Run Status change from table – Within test run table I can change the status of the test case directly from the test run table without any difficulty.
  • Test case quick view from test run – From test run I can quickly check the information about the test case and this is a very useful feature.
  • Export test cases in CSV or JSON format – From test cases grid, you can easily export test cases in 2 different formats, 1 is CSV, and another is JSON format.

Issues with UnitTCMS

  • Status of test case in test run is carry forward into new test run as well.
